Mines Action Canada is committed to protecting the privacy of the personal information of its members, employees, volunteers, donors, partners and other stakeholders by adhering to the privacy principles set forth in the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). MAC strives to be transparent and accountable in how we treat the information that you choose to share with us. Personal information (any information that can be used to distinguish, identify or contact a specific individual) gathered by MAC is kept in confidence. Anyone from whom we collect personal information should expect that it will be carefully protected and that any use of or other dealing with this information is subject to consent.
We collect, use and disclose personal information only for purposes that are considered appropriate and clearly identified. MAC staff are authorized to access personal information based only on their need to deal with information for the reason(s) for which it is obtained. Safeguards are in place to ensure that information is not disclosed or shared more widely than is necessary and to make certain that the integrity of this information is maintained.
